When Duck Dynasty first began airing in 2012, fans classified it as another generic reality TV show. Centered around the Robertson’s, the series followed the family business of crafting products for duck hunters. On paper, the series was nothing more than another plan to hog viewers. But what made the series different, were the eccentric and loveable characters. And while most of the family were eccentric on their right, Missy Robertson was a calming presence amongst them. The wife of Jase Robertson, Missy has always been the backbone of the family business, Duck Commander. In this article, we will take a closer look at the wiki-bio of Missy Robertson.
Missy Robertson was born on the 22nd of April 1971. Born and raised in Bernice, Louisiana, Missy is the daughter of Larry Avis West & Peggy Elaine Spoonts. While not much is known of her early life & education Missy did progress in a marriage relationship early. She met and married Jase Robertson when she was just 19-years of age and has been with him ever since. Over the years, Missy has contributed massively to the success of the duck commander and continues to remain an integral part of the family business.
A calming presence:
Over the years, as the Robertson household started touching the boundaries and fame, Missy has been a strong voice reminding everyone of humility and consistent faith. Not the only to be deterred easily, Missy credits God for her family success. When she is not drawing plans across the board, Missy can be seen at the local Christian youth camp, Camp Ch-Yo-Ca, where she serves as the crafts director.
Missy is also an author and has two books to her name. In October of 2015, Missy wrote a book entitled Blessed, Blessed…Blessed. The book told the story of her family and of raising a young girl who was born with a cleft lip and palate. Miscarriage & third child Mia Robertson :
The pair have one daughter, Mia Robertson born on September 12, 2003. Mia was born with a cleft lip and palate and had to undergo five surgeries until now. While Missy and Jase have their hands full taking care of Mia, they did reveal that Missy suffered a miscarriage before being pregnant with Mia. The experience was troubling for Missy who revealed,
“I was about eight to 10 weeks along when I miscarried, just enough time to be excited about it and start telling everyone. I’d heard of tubal pregnancies for years, but didn’t really understand the mental anguish of actually having to go in and have someone remove what could’ve been your child. It was extremely difficult, and there was a lot of pain and bleeding,”
Missy is also the co-founder of the Mia Moo Fund which works to raise awareness and give financial assistance to children with their treatments associated with cleft lip & palate. Missy currently stars in the new series, Restored with Missy Robertson, where she employs women who need a second lease at life.
