Matthew was in charge of cleaning the locations, interviewing the spirits occupying Amy’s body, recording the interactions, and also investigating the field. He would complete most of the tasks including cleaning and field investigation before Amy’s arrival on set.
Departure from “The Dead Files”:
The Dead Files represent Matthew’s one and only television career. He joined the reality show from the very beginning debuting in season 1 episode 1 “Evil in Erieville,” (aired September 23, 2011). Matthew was a regular cast member until 2016 and appeared in eight seasons. After five years and 111 episodes, Matthew left the show with his last appearance coming in “Deadly Relations – Lake City, Florida” aired September 17, 2016. Matthew was previously married to Amy Allan. The pair met in college and what began as friendship turned into an affair eventually the pair took a leap into marriage. Matthew and Amy did not give birth to kids during their time together. The pair separated in 2012 and the divorce was finalized in 2013. Even though divorced, Matthew did not let personal feelings get in the way and continued working as her assistant in The Dead Files until 2016.
