Amy Bruni was born on July 10, 1976, in Sacramento, California United States. Raised in Sacramento, Amy was raised in a supposedly haunted house. Her father worked as an amateur paranormal investigator and introduced Amy to paranormal investigation. From her early years, Amy started studying the paranormal and religiously followed any Hans Holzer book she could find. Amy supposedly had her first encounter when she was six years old. She had an encounter with the landlord’s son, who had passed away during the second world war.
After graduating from high school, Amy started working in the healthcare industry. She later abandoned health care in favor of paranormal investigations and has kept at it ever since. In her early years, Amy investigated haunted locations on her own. After years of self-exploration, Amy joined a paranormal team in Sacramento, CA. During her time there, Amy was called up by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, who wanted her to join The Atlantic Paranormal Society. Since then, Amy has worked with TAPS and played a major part in the formation of the first-ever TAPS satellite team, TAPS West. In 2007, Amy was transferred to East Coast where she served as a paranormal investigator and researcher.
Amy started making regular appearances in Ghost Hunters in 2008 joining the paranormal investigator such as Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. Amy was part of the investigation team and made successive 115 appearances from 2008 to 2014. Alongside Ghost Hunters, Amy also worked in the production of Beyond Reality Radio.
As Amy’s name grew, she started attracting producers from different networks. In 2016, she was approached by the Travel Channel with an idea for a brand-new series, Kindred Spirits. The series revolves around Adam Berry and Amy Bruni, who help families troubled by supernatural activities in their homes and help them find peace. The series began airing on October 21, 2016 and is currently in its seventh season. In season 7 episode 1 which premiered on January 20, 2023, Amy is as usual down to business as she visits a former farm in Pennsylvania and tries to vanquish spirit and bring peace to the land, with the help of fellow investigators Adam Berry and Chip Coffey.
A second stint in Ghost Hunters:
Amy Bruni and Adam Berry left Ghost Hunters in 2014 at the end of season nine. However, the pair could not start right away in another show due to a contractual situation with the former employee. Not the one to be disheartened, during her time off from the television world, she continued as a paranormal investigator behind the scene. When asked to return for season 14 and season 15 of Ghost Hunters from 2021 to 2022, which she did, it was a short term not in a regular cast member role. Also, by this time Amy had all sorts of projects ongoing, including hosting a podcast “Haunted Road with Amy Bruny” starting in 2021.
In addition to her exploits in the field of paranormal investigation and reality television, Amy has used her experience to take a shot in the field of writing. She published “Life with the Afterlife: 13 Truths I Learned about Ghosts” in 2019.
