After only married for three years his parents, Timothy and Alicia divorced in1978. It is obvious Dr. Bottoms had no idea of ongoing divorce since being a kid of one year. He also had to juggle custody battle that went for quite some time.

He was raised in California where he began his first step in his veterinary journey. After high school, he studied Bachelor of Science (Animal Science as major) in California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo and graduated as the class of 2000.
He then went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada. He got his DVM degree in 2004.
This aspiring doctor began his practice in Santa Cruz, California as a mobile large-animal veterinarian and worked for two years from 2004 to 2006. He later went to Hawaii for training on ocean wildlife veterinary and ended up staying.

What I like about Buckeye is that he has a great sense of humor. It goes a long way in life and demanding jobs. I know because I was a junior high school teacher for 32 years. I especially love his puns! That’s my specialty, too.

Wow! Buckeye I love you, Kevin and your show! You and Dr. Pol are the best hands down!!! When Buckeye and Kevin go island hopping for their patients, does Buckeye have a truck on each island that’s set up and ready to go on calls??? I remember that Scott Sims had his on plane and he could just load it a nd go. I was sad that he passed away and seemingly so suddenly. My condolences to all who knew him and worked with him, I know he is dearly missed.

We love his show. I had horses all my life as my parents raised them. We have had so many animals so we have a good idea of the work of vets. Several friends were veterinarians. Buckeyes practice and general approach is not only appealing but very real. He is intuitive and imparts knowledge as he works. We feel he’s definitely a wonderful replacement for the previous vet who sadly passed away. We had also watched and thoroughly enjoyed his show. We are from Ontario Canada.
I agree with most of the other comments, including that the show is great, Buckeye is dedicated and excellent with the animals and their owners, and that Kevin is one heck of a dog. What I like best though is learning about the many medical issues a variety of animals have, and how they are diagnosed and treated. This may also help home viewer animal owners maintain better health with their animals, heading off health problems, and seeing the vet sooner when there is a problem starting. I’m most impressed with the doctor’s work ethic, he appears to be all business when it comes tp patient care. He also handles many really tough tasks on the job, often commenting that something done during a given visit was really tough (e.g. goat wrangling, etc.), appropriately saying “somebody has to do it” (I love that one). I too wonder if he has a pick-up truck on both kauai and Maui islands, though note that although both trucks are white, one is a Chevy and the other a GMC; identical trucks with the only difference being badging.
