Dr. Emily Thomas is more than what meets the eyes, behind the beautiful face the generous heart makes her a wonderful human being. You may well be familiar with Dr. Emily as the veterinarian of ‘The Incredible Dr. Pol.” She currently practices at Virginia Warren County Veterinary Clinic in Virginia. Previously she worked as DVM veterinarian staff in Weidman, Michigan under Dr. Jan Ham Pol.
Dr. Emily was born as Emily Keene on 1st April 1984 in the southeastern state of U.S., Georgia. If we add up the numbers she is currently 35 years of age. She holds American citizenship and belongs to white ethnicity.
Her parents divorced, her father is married to another woman
Dr Emily grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia. The setting around her hometown in the early years, helped Emily fall in love with animals and nature. She raised pets like dogs and cats at home. Her affection for animals, especially for horses, is evident to this day.
Dr. Emily’s parents raised her to become a wonderful person. She shows it in her work by carefully taking care of animals. However, it is sad to break her father, Doug Keene and mother are no longer together in conjugal life. It is not known when Doug and his wife separated, but we know Doug now trades happiness with a new lady in his life. In 2013 he married Sheila Davis.
She has a striking resemblance to her sister Kelly Keene
It is common if blood siblings share similar appearance after all they are descended from the same parents. Dr. Emily grew several years apart from her older sister Kelly Keene who was born in 1978. Although not twins the girls share an astonishingly close resemblance in appearance.
Dr. Emily married her high school sweetheart on May 12, 2007
She is blissfully married to Tony Thomas who was her high school sweetheart. Tony attended Huston County High School in Warner Robins, George when they first met each other. The two remained in a love relationship for several years and got married on May 12, 2007.
So far their marriage has been blissful. Tony is a supportive husband and has continuously been helpful in different stages of her career. He helped achieve her career goal of becoming a veterinarian. In 2010, Emily got a DVM degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. The happy couple currently resides in Virginia with their children.
Dr. Emily is the mother of three children
It is often said children complete the marriage and bring new sense of purpose and happiness in the family which could not be truer in the case of Dr. Emily. She and her husband decided to grow family after her graduation (DVM) as she thought of giving more emphasis to her personal life.
The couple has given birth to three children. Their eldest girl India was born on September 5, 2012, then Oscar on August 27, 2014, and the youngest Calvin was born in 2017. Dr. Emily is active on twitter where she often shares about her family and kids. We can see she loves them.
Despite being in the demanding profession of Veterinarian, Dr. Emily has been able to maintain family and work side by side. We can say she is one tough lady.
Her career and progression
Dr. Emily gained her DVM degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She also took an internship in large animal field services and spent time studying equine (horse) reproduction.
She honed her veterinary skill initially working for a small private practice in Newberry, South Carolina. Later she moved to Rosebush, Michigan in February of 2014 to work with the team of Dr. Jan Pol at Pol Veterinary service. She also became part of Nat Geo Wild hit show “The Incredible Dr. Pol.” She made her show debut in 2015.
In 2019 she left Dr.Pol and TV show. Dr. Emily and her family moved to Virginia where she works at Warren County Veterinary Clinic.
Dr. Emily is an art fanatic and maintains her hobby of painting
From childhood, she was interested in painting. Over the years she has drawn many, but her fascination for nature and animals has led her to use the brush mostly in this particular field. Nowadays, being caught up with family and work it is hard for her to engage more in the hobby but when she can, she does best to make her effort into beautiful paintings.
