Upbringing & Education

Ursula Stolf was born on the 1st of September 1984, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Born in Ontario, Ursula recoated to Rexdale with her parents during her early years. The third child of the family, Ursula didn’t have the best of childhood. Shortly after moving to Rexdale, her parents divorced and Ursula and her siblings moved to Rexdale. In an interview, Ursula revealed that her father had violent tendencies and that divorce was good for the family. After the divorce, Ursula and her sisters moved to the housing commission apartment. The apartment did not have the best of services and the family struggled with many things.

After seeing her mother struggling to make ends meet, Ursula decided to pursue something better for herself and wanted to graduate college. So after graduating from the local high school, Ursula enrolled at Niagara College and completed her bachelor’s degree in education. She continued her education at Mount St. Vincent’s University and graduated with a Master’s degree in Education. She went on to graduate from York University with a degree in sociology and post-graduate studies in human resources.

Getting into the Business

As her educational background suggests, Ursula had been gearing up for a career in education. Ursula never wanted anything to do with acting, but things changed when the casting director of Storage Wars invited her for a mock auction. After realizing that she could improvise, Ursula was offered a chance to star in Storage Wars: Canada. Talking about the experience, Ursula revealed:

“In Ontario, Canada permanent positions as a teacher are hard to come by. In 2013, Storage Wars was expanding its franchise to Canada. The casting director by chance came by a picture of me and invited me out to a ‘mock auction audition. It was at that audition that I had proved and discovered that I had the ability to improv.”

Impressed with her performance the directors offered Ursula a chance to star in the series.

Ursula joined the cast of “Storage Wars: Canada” in 2013, as one of the high-stakes buyers who bid on storage lockers, hoping to find valuable or rare items inside. She was often referred to as “Ursula the Knockout” by her fans and fellow bidders, due to her attractive appearance and competitive spirit. She appeared in 15 episodes of the series, which aired on OLN in Canada and A&E in the US. The show was a spin-off of the original “Storage Wars” that took place in California, and featured other Canadian buyers such as Roy Dirnbeck, Cindy Hayden, Rick Coffill, and Paul Kenny.

Storage Wars: Northern Treasures

In 2015, Stolf reprised her role as a buyer in another spin-off of “Storage Wars”, titled “Storage Wars: Northern Treasures”.
