In Swamp People Season 15, Episode 11, titled “Full Moon Frenzy,” the hunters face one of the wildest nights on the bayou. With the full moon igniting a feeding frenzy, veteran gator hunters like Troy Landry and Pickle Wheat go head-to-head with a monstrous cannibal gator, while others, including Ashley Jones, Daniel Edgar, Leron Jones, and Porkchop, face their own unpredictable moonlit challenges.
Moon Madness: Gators Turn Cannibal
As the episode opens, Troy Landry and Pickle Wheat set out under the eerie glow of a full moon, expecting a busier-than-usual hunt. Troy immediately explains how lunar cycles affect their odds:
“It makes them bite hard, hard… makes me bite hard too.”
They soon reel in a nine-foot alligator—only to find its entire leg missing. The mangled catch sparks concern:
“That tells me there’s a much bigger one in this area… once they start that, they don’t want to stop.” – Troy Landry
Pickle, surveying the wound, adds:
“We got one of your crime scenes over here.”
The duo quickly concludes that a much larger, aggressive cannibal gator is on the prowl.
The Hunt for the Cannibal Gator
Determined to stop the predator, Troy and Pickle push through the night, catching several agitated gators—but none fit the profile. Then, after a violent back-and-forth battle, they corner and capture a massive 12-foot beast.
“That thing is like Jaws. He’s coming after me!” – Troy
Troy inspects the gator and declares:
“That’s the leg off of another alligator…”
Pickle, confirming the grisly find, adds:
“He’s throwing up that other alligator.”
The mystery is solved, and the bayou’s balance is temporarily restored.
