Is Christel Khalil (Lily Ashby) returning to “The Young and Restless”?

Christel Khalil not being on The Young and the Restless has been frustrating for Lane fans. Her character Lily Ashby is serving a year-long jail sentence for the death of Mishel Morgan which actually was an accident. Some devoted Cane and Lily blame writers for lack of Lily on the show even do not care to turn on the Tv. In reality, Khalil overlooked the role to focus more on personal life and adjust career accordingly.

In Aug 2018, Christel Khalil opted not to renew the contract after 16 years on the show. Then on she addressed the role on a recurring basis only.

Talking to Soap Opera Digest podcast she revealed dating a man in Toronto and wanting to expand career-wise and work on other projects. After going through her Instagram handle we fond her boyfriend to be Sam Restagno. She also added her reason to spend more time with her son Michael Caden Hensley.

Judging her current situation, we can say she is content with her son and personal life. It is highly unlikely for her to return and start a new contract with  Y& R. Nevertheless, there are chances she could come back mainly due to her beloved fans.

Back in 2012, Khalil and showrunners had a dispute with the contract and she left the show. However, the outcry from fans propelled showrunners to hand her favored contract to bring her back. Maybe The Emmy winning actress changes her mind again for fans  who already miss her.
