Their love story began on the set of Alaskan Bush People as Allison was working as a field producer of the show, which featured Bam and his family living in the Alaskan wilderness. Back in 2016, Bam revealed that he was dating executive producer, Allison Kagan. Talking to People, he revealed that Kegan was just the girl he was searching for.

“I felt like it was the right time to follow my heart. She’s stirred something inside me and made my soul wake up. I hope we can blend our lives together and I can take her back to Alaska.”

However, the whole bringing Kegan back to Alaska, plan took a huge hit after Bam found out that his family did not take too kindly to Kegan. The main reason for the discontent was Kegan’s prior work with the Brown family. An insider revealed that the Brown family could not stand Kegan.

“They do not show Bam’s woman Allison the same level of respect, and it really just sets him off because they’ve known her longer than any of his brother’s new fame-hungry girls.”

As a result, Bam grew fed up with his family members and wanted to leave the series for good. He left Alaskan Bush People for a while in 2017 as he decided to pursue his relationship with Allison Kagan. Bam and Kegan had purchased a 100-foot boat and renovated and transformed it into their dream home, calling it Fathom This. He wanted to sail to the Bahamas before his mother’s diagnosis.

Ami’s diagnosis and staying back:

When the news first broke of discord in the family, it was rumored that it was only a matter of time before Bam left the series. However, around the same time, Ami was diagnosed with stage three lung cancer and was admitted to the hospital. Faced with his mother’s cancer, Joshua could no longer abandon the family. As the family focused on Ami’s treatment Josua returned to his family’s ranch in Washington state.
