Pickle Wheat Pushes for Treble Hooking in “Silent Assassins” | Swamp People S16E13

In Swamp People Season 16, Episode 13, titled “Silent Assassins”, which originally aired on April 3, 2025, Troy Landry and Pickle Wheat face a critical decision: stick to running lines, or bend tradition and allow treble hooking to pursue elusive giants. With time running short and small gators dominating their catch, Pickle convinces Troy to give her favorite method a shot — and the results shake up the boat.

“We lines people. We not treble hook people,” Troy says firmly. But Pickle isn’t ready to give up:
“Please let me throw the treble hook out here,” she pleads.

From Small Catch to Big Stakes

The morning starts with disappointment — a dead six-footer and several undersized gators have Troy questioning the productivity of their spot. Pickle notices a pattern: too many small gators. She believes it’s time to try something different.

“We got too many babies in the area,” she says. “That’s why I keep begging you for the treble hook.”

Convincing the King of the Swamp

Troy, a seasoned line-setter, remains skeptical. But even he acknowledges that Pickle deserves a chance to do what she loves.

“I can’t just have it my way. I gotta let her have her fun,” Troy admits. “She likes to treble hook… maybe we need to step up and fish harder.”

Pickle prepares her gear, hoping to hook into a true giant.

A Heart-Stopping Battle on the Hook

One of her early attempts nearly succeeds — a huge gator takes the bait but breaks free, snapping Pickle’s favorite treble hook in the process.

“That’s the biggest alligator I’ve ever tried to throw a hook on,” she says, heartbroken. “He broke my hook.”

But she doesn’t give up. Moments later, she hooks into another large gator — a 12-foot beast. This time, she holds on and successfully reels it in, marking her biggest catch of the day with the treble hook.
