The marriage was a setup based on their show Impractical Jokers and Jenna very well played her part in it. To be precise, Murray took revenge on Sal for the skydiving punishment he faced in the third season first episode of the show.

Murray reflected his funny and intelligent side from his years at Monsignor Farrell High School. There he became interested in drama and improv comedy and joined improv club. Murray graduated as the Salutatorian from Farrell, which means the second smartest person in school. To attend college, he moved to Washington and studied four years B.A with major English at Georgetown University ( 1994-1998).

Murray created comedy troupe  The Tenderloins alongside his high school friends in 1999. After college, he worked for Staten Island Ferry where he ran into Sal. The two reconnected with high school friends Joe Gatto and  Mike Boccio and began practicing improv at Joe’s house three days every week for six months. They performed their first official show on March 4, 2000.

Murray taught improv and sketch comedy at a school to support himself and the Tenderlions project. Around 2006 the guys rented a small 50-person theater in New York for $65. Only two people came to see the show who were Murray’s student. The Tenderlions got deserved recognition and their first turning point as they won $100,000 on NBC’s It’s Your Show YouTube video competition in 2007.

Murray had two failed attempt before Tenderloins got a comedy show deal with Tru Tv channel. His had sold his first show to A&E however it did not go past the pilot episode. In 2008 Tenderloins were set to feature in a scripted sitcom for Spike TV and again the show did not get past the pilot episode.

TruTV announced the series Impractical Jokers, originally slated to be named Mission: Uncomfortable, on April 12, 2011. In addition to the show, the famed Tenderloins began hosting a podcast in April 2012 which is released in two weeks time on their official website and iTunes.

The popularity of Tenderlions has helped them perform at theatres, clubs, festivals and live event across the US and the UK. From finding hard to fill a 50 person theater to a sold out tickets at Madison Square Garden speaks the success of The Tenderloins.
