Dustin Hurt wiki/bio, age, net worth, wife, kids, gold rush.
For the Hurt family, Gold digging runs in the family. For them, mining is like a family business. Over the years, several members of the family have taken responsibility at the mines. Dustin Hurt is the latest Hurt family member to join the mining expedition. The son of the veteran miner, ‘Dakota’ Fred Hurt, Dustin joined his father from quite a young age. He is now a part of the Dakota Boys and his group is currently working at Porcupine Creek. This was after the Hoffman crew blew up and the Dakota Boys took ownership of the mine. In this article, we take a closer look at the wiki-bio of Dustin Hurt.
Relationship with his father:
Dustin Hurt and Fred Hurt are not the first father and son combo in the reality TV series, Gold Rush. But the pair do share an unusual relationship. During his time in the series, Dustin is never seen calling Fred, ‘Dad’. He often refers to his father as Fred and this puzzled fans around the world. So when Fred was finally quizzed as to why Dustin doesn’t call him Dad, Fred revealed that,
“Well, he started working for me when he was 16 and he said it wasn’t cool to call your boss “Dad.” It’s just sorta stuck and it’s like a nickname now”.

Finding his feet:
Dustin Hurt is the son of Fred Hurt and Lorrayne Hurt. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dustin has revealed very little information about himself. The reality star remains tight-lipped about his early life and would rather talk about his work. Dusting started working with Fred ever since he was 16 years of age. This was way back in the day when Justin had just graduated from high school.
After working with his father for eight odd years, Justin received his license to work as a wildland firefighter for California Forest Service. The work required Dustin to travel to remote locations to suppress wildfires. As a part of the self-contained unit specializing in wildfire suppression tactics, Dustin had to be handy with chainsaws and axes to cut fire breaks. The experience came in handy for Justin who now specializes in heavy equipment.
Life on Gold Rush Cast:
Dustin and his father are regular cast members of the reality TV series, Gold Rush. Even though the pair leave the series on more than one occasion, they are always back for more. A part of the Dakota Boys, the group left the series during its fifth season, but are now back. During their time off, the crew managed to shoot a TV documentary entitled All That Glitters.
