Ian Roussel was born on the 19th of November 1970 in Sunland, California. Born and raised in southern California, Ian is the sole child of the Roussel family. His father was a car enthusiast and had a huge influence on young Ian growing up. As Ian used to spend much time with his father, he became interested in cars. The interest soon turned into a passion and Ian began to unravel the mystery of mechanics. After graduating from a local high school in southern California, Ian decided not to pursue a University degree and began working soon after.

Ian began his professional career in his own terms. He established a custom car-building garage in southern California. Ian, who was 22 at the time started manufacturing cars and carports. The next few years brought attention to Ian who was manufacturing one-of-a-kind cars. In 2014, Ian was approached by MAVTV with an idea for a TV show.
