The pursuit of veterinary education and the highest degree in the profession led her to join Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. There she graduated with a DVM degree in 2012.

Career:

She did an internship under Dr. Jan Harm Pol while still a student at Iowa State University. Meanwhile, it also presented her opportunity to explore the television world. 

The Incredible Dr. Pol:

Sandra as a Veterinary student made her debut in the Nat Geo Wild reality show “The Incredible Dr. Pol” during season 2 episode 3 titled “All Vets Are Off” which aired on September 8, 2012.  After her internship period, she was hired as DVM, Staff Veterinarian at Pol Veterinary Service which is co-owned by Dr. Pol and his wife Diane Pol.

If we co-relate with the television show, she was seen as one of Dr. Pol’s employees starting from season 2 episode 12  titled “Ready, Vet, Go!” which aired on February 2, 2013. Since the episodes are tapped several months prior, it is obvious Dr. Sandra started working at Pol Veterinary Service sometime in 2012. She appeared in a total of 14 episodes until 2017. During her time with “Dr.Pol”, she worked alongside the staff team including Dr. Brenda Grattenberger, Charles Pol (not a veterinarian), and Michele Sharkey.

Reason for her exit from the show:

When she was introduced as a Dr. Pol staff veterinarian during S2E12, the show aired an episode dedicated to her with an overview; “It’s not a moment too soon when vet school graduate Dr. Sandra joins Dr. Pol and his busy team. Only time will tell if she will be able to take the pressure.”

Sandra knew what she was into and was ready to bear the workload and pressure even though engaged to her fiancee Chris Shindorf at the time. However, she decided to shift more focus to her personal life following her marriage to Chris Shindorf in 2014. She moved in with her husband in Beldin, Michigan, and resides there and since has become a mother of two children.

After Television:

After leaving Pot Veterinary Service in Weidman, Michigan, Sandra has not pursued a career in the television world. For those hopeful, Sandra is unlikely to return as a cast member of “The Incredible Dr.Pol.” She currently is an associate veterinarian for Greenville Animal Hospital in Greenville, Michigan.

Personal Life:

Sandra Wisniewski is married to Chris Shindorf. The pair said their “I do’s” with a wedding ceremony on October 4, 2014. The pair call Beldin, Michigan their home and raise their two children together. Their first one, a baby daughter, Madilynn Shindorf was born in 2016. The youngest, baby bo, Sam Shindorf was born in 2019.
