Why Dr.Emily Thomas is not on Dr. Pol? What happened ! Did she left?
Dr. Emily Thomas has been the cast of the Nat Geo most popular reality show “The incredible Dr.Pol” for some time now. Since the debut in 2015, she made a team with Dr. Jan Pol and his amazing team rescuing animal around Weidman, Michigan.
Nat Geo’s reality TV show premiered on October 29, 2011, and the hit show is running in its twelveth season. It follows the work of Dr. Jan Pol and his amazing team as they rescue animals in Weidman, Michigan. However, one face that is missing with the beginning of the 12th season is the incredible Dr. Emily Thomas.
Dr. Emily Thomas left the show
Dr. Emily left the show because she was overworked, underpaid, and stressed out, reportedly. She had to work long hours, sometimes up to 14 hours a day, without proper breaks or compensation. She also had to balance her roles as a mother of three young children, a wife, and a reality TV star, which took a toll on her mental health. She developed depression and anxiety, and even had suicidal thoughts at one point.
Dr. Emily tried to cope with the situation by taking antidepressants, seeking therapy, and talking to her husband and friends, but nothing seemed to help. She realized that she needed to make a change for her own well-being and happiness, and that of her family. She decided to leave the show and the clinic after finding a new job opportunity in Virginia, where she could work in a more supportive and rewarding environment.
Dr. Emily seems to be happier and healthier in Virginia, where she works as a veterinarian at a small animal clinic.

Come back Dr. Emily when you are ready. Three young children are quite a responsibility but you and your husband seem to be a good team and will do more than well enough. My husband stayed home with our newborn and took care of him during the day while I worked. At night. It was my turn while he went to law school. When he started working, we found a wonderful neighbor (kind of) woman to care for him, by then 2 1/2, on work days. Forty years later, he is a fine young man, well-balanced and none the worse for wear. Good luck. Look forward to seeing you again!

Dr Emily, could never understand how a lady with a marvelous personality could keep on living an extenuating life as veterinarian at Dr. Pol. A marvelous mom living more time at the job while having 3 children. Even makeup could not hide the tired woman that had to use all her energy proving your great desire to help our, your animal friends. Yes I miss every times you made me admire you ! Sure will miss you on the show. You will love Virginia and won’t have to work in all that bad weather in Michigan. Maybe you can have your own show like the young vet that moved from Florida to Texas. Smile. Good luck to you and your family.
Dr Emily, you are the best!!!! Loved watching you!!!
We will miss you on Dr. Pol. But you have to do what’s best for your family. U truly are a farm girl. There is no doubt about that. I have seen you do & be in situations most men and women would die before letting themselves get into. I admire you and your stamina. I was raised in the country around, animals and have no problem with manure , blood , vomit, puss , maggots and the like . I removed sutures numerous times both from animals and humans . Given animals vaccinations. I like you don’t give up. Keep up the good work.
Really enjoyed you on the show. You and Brenda are such an asset. PLEASE come back! I had 6 children and worked as a full time nurse. I know the pressures of working and holding down a job. You seem to have a very supportive and helpful husband. Maybe part time?. If not I wish you all the best and happiness.
Even though Dr. Emily left the show, you can still keep up with her through her blog. https://dremilythomasvet.com/by-request-our-wedding/

Dr. Emily I will miss you so much! You were the main reason I watched the show. Good luck in your new adventure and May God bless you and your family.
Enjoyed the show and will miss seeing you. However I am very happy you left if it meant having more time with your family. Being a young mom of 3 I could see how hard some of those calls were when you wrestled with large animals in all kinds of weather conditions. I can see the love and respect you have for animals or you wouldn’t have worked so hard to become a veterinarian. Congratulations on the move. I will truly miss seeing you on the show, as well as the many people who have beloved pets you have treated and saved.
Dear Dr. Emiiy,
Your “GREAT”. It’s not easy to move on. But you & the family will be very happy in time. It would be wonderful to see you on TV again.
God Bless you all & stay safe.
D’Litefully Caroline
that is pretty sad when being on t.v. pays more than your job as a vet .but vet prices are way out of line anyway they charge way to much yet they are always harping on keeping your pet healthy it is real hard to do when a simple vaccination is over 100 bucks in fact it cost more for you to go to the vet than it is for a human dr.
Dr. Emily, I was shocked to know you were leaving the Dr. Pol Show, but I understand your reasoning on why you did and who could blame you. You are truly amazing and incredibly talented. Thank you for allowing the tv viewers to share your hard work and veterinary life on Dr. Pol. I feel like I know you and I love you like a daughter. I wish you the best that life has to offer in the future.
Dr. Emily you are my hero. I understand why you went to a new pratice. All these women can say they worked with 3 children. Did they go and turn a cow over and stich there stomach, were they on call all night to to help deliver a calf? I get it, I worked nights when I had only one child and I was exhausted every day. So I miss you, but I get it. I’m happy you will have a balance in your life and y?our families life also.
I will truly miss you working in the mud, water or anything else to do whatever it takes to help the animals. Big or small.
I hope this will truly be what you want in.your career. I wish you the best for you and your family.
James
