Early Life:
Cara Whitney was born in 1976 in Wisconsin, USA. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Cara has revealed very little about her early life. Not a huge fan of media, Cara supports her husband from the sidelines and rarely makes public appearances. As such, details on Cara’s early life have been a complete mystery to viewers. Cara was raised in a family of farmers and her father owned a farm in Wisconsin. At a young age, Cara developed a love for animals, especially horses.

Meeting Larry the Cable Guy:
After graduating from the local high school, Cara decided to move to California to work as a radio DJ. In 2004, Cara met Daniel and the pair forged an instant connection with each other. The pair dated for around a year and tied the knot in 2005. A year after their marriage, Cara gave birth to the couple’s first son, Wyatt. They welcomed their daughter, Regan, in 2006. Over the years, Cara continued her work as a radio DJ and traveled around the states searching for the perfect life everyone dreamed of. However, it later dawned on Cara that there is no such thing as a simple life and the best life is the one which includes a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Life as an Author:
Following a hectic career, Cara decided to move to Nebraska and raise her kids on the farm, in a similar way to she was raised. In the year that followed, Cara’s love for horses was reignited and she used her love for horses to inspire and encourage the next generation.
As of 2020, Cara has released two books. Her first book entitled Unbridled Faith: 100 Devotions from the Horse Farm, was released in 2018. After receiving great reviews for her books, Cara decided to publish the second book in 2020 entitled, Unbridled Faith Devotions for Young Readers.
Cara uses her books to teach young readers about prayer, persistence, and identity. As Cara puts it,
“When kids reach a certain age, they begin shaping and defining their beliefs. Devotions offer a valuable way to help reflect on their questions and thoughts. It’s during these evolving times when young people need information so they can make their faith their own. I found that my quiet time with God came through my working with horses and I hope this devotional helps young people find their quiet time with God.”
Cara is hopeful that her books will inspire readers to search for God’s grace no matter what they do. Cara is also the co-founder of the Charity, The Git-R-Done Foundation. The foundation was established in 2009 and is dedicated to helping children with hip dysplasia.
