Catrina Kidd was born on the 19th of September 1982 to Dennis Earl Brooks and Letha Brooks. Catrina was raised in Texas, where she still lives with her own family. She has two brothers Chris and Cody with whom she shared her childhood and a passion for country life. Along with her mother, and her two siblings, Catrina grew up in Grandview, Texas, where she attended Grandview High School. While Catrina grew into her role as a renovator following graduation, she began working on houses even before her graduation. Still at University, Catrina got a job as a sales representative with a home builder. It was during this time that Catrina’s interest in home building grew exponentially and she learned the basics of building homes. But the Texas housing market crash in 2008 proved to be a huge roadblock in Catrina’s career and she had to improvise. Not the one to give up easily, Catrina started the food business, Yucatan Taco Stand, and currently serves as the Vice-president.

Texas Flip N Move

The establishment came on the back of Catrina’s excellent work on the development, design, and project management of the Gas Monkey Bar and Grill in Dallas. As her skill and fame grew, Catrina was invited to be a part of the reality TV series, Texas Flip N Move, a show that features teams of house movers who buy, renovate, and sell houses at auction. Catrina started as a contractor for the Snow Sisters, one of the original teams on the show, but soon partnered up with Casey Hester, another house mover with a family legacy in the business. On how the two met Hester opened during an interview by saying:

“We first teamed up when I was overwhelmed working on a flip. I needed some help, mainly design-wise, so I went to the Snows and said, ‘Hey can I borrow Catrina for this one job?’ And we hit it off. We’re really good friends now, and we work together well, I think.”

Since, they have flipped dozens of houses, impressing viewers with their creativity, craftsmanship, and chemistry.
