What is Anastasia Surmava doing? Life after Below Deck Mediterranean.

Anastasia Surmava is as badass as the women she admires. A strong work ethic and her desire to make sure everything is perfect, Anastasia was a perfect choice for the fourth season of Below Deck: Mediterranean. Even though Anastasia was first recruited as a third stewardess, she served as the ship’s chef after Mila Kolomeitseva was fired from the yacht. Similar to her hunger for perfection, Mila’s hunger for knowledge knows no bounds. She is always looking to learn new things no matter where she goes. As a result, the reality star has gathered massive knowledge in a short period. In this article, we will take a closer look at the wiki-bio of Anastasia Surmava.

Early Life:

Anastasia was born on the 29th of June 1992. Even though Anastasia was born in the Republic of Georgia, she moved to the US at two years of age. Even though her mother was married at the time, the marriage didn’t work out and Anastasia moved to the US. Her mother worked as a pastry chef, which is how Anastasia became involved in the culinary world. Anastasia always makes sure to cite her mother in just about any interview she gives. In one of the interviews, Anastasia revealed how her mother had sacrificed for her.

“She is just the epitome of female empowerment to me. She became the head pastry chef when she was like 24 years old for the president of Georgia. I mean, this woman is an absolute boss. Instead of going back home to where she’s comfortable and she had a good job and a nice house and nice clothes she stayed here and went through a lot of hardship in order to give me a better life.”

Right on time:

Even though Anastasia never looked for a job on a yacht, she was talked into it by a young captain. When he realized that Anastasia could cook in a galley without getting sea-sick, he invited her on board as a chef. After a few years as a yachtie, Anastasia was invited on the reality TV show, Below Deck Mediterranean. She joined the series in 2019 and served as the yacht’s third stewardess and chef.

For the first four episodes of the fourth season, Anastasia was handed over the role of the third stewardess. However, when Chef Mila Kolomeitseva had a disastrous attempt to make a cake, Anastasia swooped in and saved her. After the incident, Anastasia was asked to take over the chef’s hat. Her stint lasted for a total of 7 episodes, after which Ben Robinson was invited to take over.

The adventure came right on time for Anastasia and proved to be her final work on a yacht. After the season wrapped, she went to Srilanka and started operating a yoga cafe.

Life after Below Deck:

Even though Anastasia was loved by fans of the show, she did not return for the show’s fifth season. Instead of serving on a yacht, Anastasia took a flight to Srilanka. She is currently spearheading the establishment of a new yoga studio and cafe. The whole idea was pitched by a man she met on a blind date. Talking about the bizarre experience, Anastasia revealed,

“[The area] has a huge like surfer and yogi kind of vibe and he’s like ‘I need somebody who can create this for me and kind of spearhead this entire operation,’” Surmava recalled. “So basically he wanted to invest in me.”

The cafe officially opened its doors in November of 2019 and has been in operation ever since. Anastasia also paired up with Below Deck Med alum Julia d’Albert-Pusey’s company Girl Alliance.

Relationships:

Even though rumors of Anastasia linked with many artists and co-stars like photographer and a traveler Hubert Haciski, Evan Brookcass and her co-star Colin Macyotoole burn the media, all those rumors went to vain as she revealed that she is single and ready to mingle on the show ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.’
