Amy Roloff is the ever strong and badass matriarch of the Roloff household. Even though she has long cut ties with her husband Matthew, Amy continues to support her family and is ever-present for her children and grandchildren. Amy first rose to fame following her appearances in the reality TV series, Little People Big World. The series, which began airing from March of 2006, is centered around the Roloff family, a unique family of dwarves. The series is currently airing its 20th season and is expected to continue for a while. In this article, we take a closer look at the wiki-bio of Amy Roloff.

Early Life:

Amy Jo Knight was born on the 17th of September 1964 in Michigan. She was born to Gordon night and late Patricia Knight. Back in the day, her father worked for Ford Motor Company and is still killing it. Amy lost her mother Patricia in 2019, who passed away due to natural reasons. This was not the first personal tragedy Amy faced. 4 years before losing her mother, Amy lost her sister Cyndi. At a young age, Amy was diagnosed with achondroplasia that causes short stature. While her other siblings, Katherine, Roger, and Cyndi were of normal height. As a young kid, Amy attended Franklin High School in Livonia, Michigan. Good in her studies, Amy went on to Central Michigan University, where she earned a degree in business.

Professional Career:

After graduating from University, Amy started working a couple of odd jobs. In 2006, Amy was cast as the lead role in the reality TV series, Little People Big World. By this point in time, Amy had already married and was a mother to four children. The show became an integral part of Amy’s life and career.

In the same year, Amy released a book entitled Short and Simply Family Recipes. The cookbook contained 75 original family recipes and was published by Westwinds Press. Amy is also the author of an autobiography entitled,  A Little Me, and Little People Big Values. The book looks back at Amy’s life and her struggles. The book portrays Amy’s struggles in navigating the world filled with average-sized people.

Other Endeavors:

Apart from her role in Little People Big World, Amy is also an entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and humanitarian. She owns an online baking business by the name of Amy Roloff’s Little Kitchen. Even though in 2017 the shop was temporarily shut down due to rat infestation, Amy is since back in business.

Over the years, Amy has given motivational speeches on several occasions including Lakes Health Conference in 2010, Empowering Women in Business Conference (EWIB) in 2015, Adrian College’s Dr. James Borland Convocational Series in 2019, and Women’s Power Lunch.

Amy is also the founder of the Amy Roloff Charity Foundation. Established in 2009, the foundation commits to helping people with disabilities.

Personal Life:

Amy Roloff met Matt Roloff at a Little People of America convention in 1987. The pair quickly hit it off and tied the knot on September 12, 1987. The pair then gave birth to four lovely children, fraternal twins Jeremy and Zachary (born 1990), Molly (1993), and Jacob (1997).

In 2014, the pair stated the desire to get divorced and publicly announced the separation on June 5, 2015. The divorce was finalized in 2016 and was settled peacefully.

Amy is now engaged to Chris Marek. The pair met during a wine and painting night at Vine Gogh Artist Bar & Studio in Portland, Oregon. The pair instantly took to each other, and on September 19, 2019, Marek proposed to Amy. The pair plan to tie the knot in 2021. Speaking about the whole experience, Amy said,

“I’m excited, I’m so surprised, I’m thrilled! I never in a million years thought I’d be getting married again, but I also hoped for it! Now that it’s happening, I couldn’t be happier or more excited.”
