Amy Crawford was born on the 10th of January 1989, in Mountain View, California. Born to Lynn and Mike Crawford, Amy comes from a family of athletes, and all three of her siblings, Brandon Crawford, Jenna Crawford, and Kaitlin Crawford played baseball in some way or form. The family moved to Pleasanton when Amy was young and the siblings spent most of their early life there. As for her academics, Amy attended Foothill High School and was a regular part of the mixed baseball and girls’ softball teams. During her high school days, Amy was a four-year starter at third base and ended up winning all the state honors.

A promising player during her high school years, Amy joined the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and followed her siblings to both baseball and softball. She joined a highly talented and balanced UCLA softball team that went on to win the 2010 Women’s College World Series that year.
While still at college, Amy worked as an intern for the sales and marketing team of the San Francisco-based software company, Spigit. After graduating from University, Amy put her playing days behind her and joined Avid Ink as an account executive. While Amy spent some time away from the sport, the pull of the sport was unbeatable and she came back to the game, not as a player but as a career coach. She mainly works with student-athletes who are preparing for a life away from sports. Amy has continued her work throughout the years and is still working with several athletes. Besides, she has also taken up a job as a recruiting manager at Essex Mortgage.
As for her personal life, Amy Crawford is happily married to Gerrit Cole and the pair have been together since their college days. The pair met at UCLA and shared a weight room. And while Gerrit was smitten with Amy right from the start, it took Amy an entire year to take up the first date option. Talking to Inside Weddings, Amy revealed,
“I was moving into my new apartment and Gerrit drove an hour and a half after a wedding just to help me move. My mom was there with me and he showed up with a bouquet of flowers for her birthday. That’s the day I decided to take him up on that first-date offer from the year prior.”
The pair dated long-distance in 2011 when Cole was drafted by Pittsburgh Pirates. They eventually got engaged in 2015 and tied the knot on November 12, 2016. The pair revealed their first pregnancy in a short Instagram post that read, “Can’t wait to meet our son in June.”
The pair has two children so far in the marriage. They welcomed their first Caden Gerrit Cole on June 30th, 2020. Their second child Everett Cole was born on January 2, 2023.
