Early Life:
Alex Debogorski was born on the 4th of August 1953, in Berwyn, Alberta. Born to Polish parents, Irene and Stanley Debogorski, Alex was born in a cave north of Figure Eight Lake. His parents emigrated from Britain, where his father worked as a paratrooper. A part of the military unit The Red Berets, Stanely jumped into Holland on the second wave. On the other hand, Alex’s mother Irene graduated Cambridge with degrees in maths and music. The family moved to Canada in 1992, and Alex spent most of his life growing up on a farm. Like his three brothers and sisters, Alex attended a local high-school before going off to the University of Alberta.

Professional Life:
After graduating from college, Alex began working in a tire store. After meeting his future wife Lousie, Alex decided to move to the Northwest Territory of Canada. He made the switch in 1996 and has been residing there ever since. Alex’s first started the trucking job in 1972 at just 19 years of age. He bought his first truck in 1980 and did various odd jobs before buying the truck. Over the years, Alex has worked as a taxi driver, coal miner, diamond prospector, a club bouncer, worked as an oil rigger and bought and sold mobile homes. Even though the jobs have no connection to each other, Alex believes that they have trained him for the trucking job.
Reality TV:
When the producers of the History Channel went north in search of a charismatic leader for their new show, they met up with Alex Debogorski. The definition of charisma, Alex was an instant hit with the producers. The producers fell in love with his infectious laugh and endless stories and offered Alex a chance to work on the series. Since then, Alex has been a regular cast member and has featured in all eleven seasons.

Alex is also an author who wrote the best-selling book King of the Road: True Tales from a Legendary Ice Road Trucker. As a young kid, Alex has always wanted to be a real-life hero. He believes that his job as an ice road trucker has fulfilled his dreams.
