The Wahlberg Family: Wahlburgers.

The Wahlberg family is a talented bunch. While Mark Wahlberg undoubtedly has the most claim to fame, his brothers and sisters are not far behind. The family even had their own TV show entitled, Wahlburgers. The series enjoyed an initial run of from January 22, 2014, to July 31, 2019, on A&E, and aired for 10 seasons. In this article, we will take a closer look at the large family of the Wahlbergs.

Alma Wahlberg:

The queen on the hill, Alma is the matriarch of the Wahlberg family. The fact that she had to raise nine kids speaks volumes about her character. Alma McPeck was born on the 6th of May 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts. She previously worked as a bank clerk and a nurses’ aide and met Donald Sr. on the job. The pair tied the knot on the 20th of November 1965. However, after 17-years of togetherness, the pair called it quits in 1982. Alma went on to marry, Mark Conroy in 1984 and the pair have been together ever since.

Donald E. Wahlberg:

The patriarch of the Wahlberg household, Donald Edmund Wahlberg was born on the 8th of May, 1930. Little is known about Donald Sr. who sadly passed away on the 14th of February, 2008. A retired US Army Veteran, Donald was on the Korean War and married Alma while still on active duty. He had a brief appearance in the movie, Southie, which aired in 1998.

Mark Wahlberg:

The youngest of the nine Wahlberg children, Mark Wahlberg is the most famous of the lot. Mark was born on the 5th of June, 1971 in Boston, Massachusetts. Mark did not have the best of childhood and soon found himself dropping out of high school and into cocaine addiction. He was jailed for assault a few times, which proved to be a turning point in his career. Even though Mark began his career as a rapper, he quickly ventured to movies and is now considered to be one of the best and most influential actors in Hollywood. Few of his accolades include 2 Academy Awards Nominations, 3 Golden Globe Nominations, and 3 SAG Awards nominations. Of his roles, Mark is best known for his work in the 2007 movie, Entourage, and the 2013 movie, Ted.

Today, Mark is happily married to model and actress Rhea Durham, and the pair have four kids together, Ella Rae, Grace, Brendan Joseph, and Michael.

Donnie Wahlberg:

Before Mark rose to fame, Donnie was the face of the Wahlberg household. Donnie Wahlberg was born on the 17th of August 1969. The eight of the nine Wahlberg children, Donnie found fame as a singer, songwriter, rapper, actor, record producer, and film producer. He first rose to fame as the founding member of the boy band New Kids on the Block.

Alongside music, Donnie found success in movies and had a few roles in the movie Saw. Since then, Donnie has made appearances in Zookeeper, Dreamcatcher, The Sixth Sense, Righteous Kill, Ransom, and Band of Brothers.
Donnie is married to Kimberly Fey and the pair tied the knot on 20 August 1999. The pair had two children, Xavier Alexander, and Elijah Hendrix. But the pair decided to call time on their marriage in 2008, and Donnie is currently married to actress Jenny McCarthy.

Robert Wahlberg:

Robert Wahlberg was born on the 18th of December 1967. Like his brothers, Robert ventured into movies but prefers to keep himself out of the spotlight. Some of his credits include Southie, The Departed, and Mystic River. Robert was once married to Gina Santangelo, but it ended in divorce. They had two children.

Paul Wahlberg:

Unlike most of his brothers, Paul gets his passion for cooking from his mom. A successful chef, Paul currently looks after Wahlberg’s restaurant business. He was born on March 20, 1964, and currently lives with his wife and two children in Hingham, Massachusetts.
