Ted Vernon was born on the 17th of October 1948 in Long Island, New York. Even though Ted has never shared details about his family, we know that his father Harold Vernon was a real estate agent. Growing up, Ted took after his father and learned the basics of a deal and how best to earn a profit. His father was also the main source of inspiration in Ted starting his career as an entrepreneur. Ted matriculated from a local high school in 1996 and decided to forego further education for his career.
Professional Career
Even though Ted is now a renowned name in the automobile industry, he first started as a boxer. Ted later quit boxing and started a business of re-selling and fixing vehicles in 1977 with a friend. Two years later, Ted quit the partnership and started his own business. Things looked bright for Ted and his company South Beach Classics became popular with the locals.
During 2005, Ted met his future wife, Robin Zeil. He introduced Robin as a partner in his company and it was she who reached out to the producers of the Discovery Channel. Talks of a TV series began and on the 30th of March 2011, Velocity Network aired a brand new show entitled South Beach Classics. The show later moved to the discovery network and Robin and Ted gained celebrity status.
Acting and Making Films
Ted has tried his hands in acting and has also produced some low budget films. His first appearance on the big screen came in 1987 in the movie, Hammerhead Jones. In the years that followed, Ted played several roles including played Corbin in âScarecrowsâ (1988), a receiver in âExtralarge: Black and Whiteâ (1991), Vinnie in âDeadly Rivalsâ (1993), and Thug B in âSouth Beachâ (1993). In 1995, Ted worked as an executive producer in the Village of the Damned. He continued to work in movies with his most recent appearances in Hell Glades (2013) and Bikini Swamp Girl Massacre (2014).
