Sam Brown is one of the unsung heroes in the reality TV series, Gold Rush. Sitting behind the camera, Sam is the one who is responsible for documenting the adventures of Parker Schnabel and his crew. And while fans may not recognize Sam at a glance, the man has been with Parker for a long time. The pair share an incredible friendship and Parker chose Sam because of his adventurous spirit. Sam is a fan of the outdoors and prefers to stay outdoors than indoors. Equipped with his camera, Sam is ready to take on the great wilderness. Sam Brown is the perfect man to join Parker’s crew. Not afraid of the wild, Sam is ready to take on any challenge the wilderness throws at him. He often uses his incredible sense of humor to encourage others to see the funny side of the situation. While Sam doesn’t directly interact with viewers, his contribution to the crew is equal to other members. Sam often reveals his funny side to his fans. In an interview for the discovery network, Sam joked, “Do I look handsome? That’s the important thing. Because if not, we have to do the whole interview over again”.

Early Association:

Sam has been involved with Parker and his crew for a long time. He has known Parker since 16 years of age and the pair often spend Christmas together. In the same interview, Parker revealed,

“I have stayed friends with Parker and Parker comes to visit me every Christmas in London. It was on one of those trips that Parker asked Sam to come back, but Sam had one requirement: Parker had to go on a big, mad, crazy, adventure.”

Replacing James:

For the longest time, James Levelle worked as Parker’s official cameraman. Even though James and Parker worked together, the pair never developed a stable friendship and would often disagree with things. When asked about the pair’s relationship, Parker revealed,

“James and I got into it quite a bit. I just don’t really like the guy. I thought I did before this all really started. I haven’t spoken to him almost since it ended. James and I had quite a few issues. I had a real problem with some of the things that he did.”

Sam replaced James Levelle as Parker’s official cameraman after they had a falling out.

When Parker asked Sam to be his official cameraman, the man didn’t have much to do. He keeps what he calls an apocalypse box with him at all times. The man never leaves his house without a water canteen, machetes, backup machetes, and a knife he once used to kill a crocodile.

When not behind a camera, Sam is busy fawning over his little pup. He owns a dog by the name of Digby and regularly posts photos of the pup. When out shooting with his crew, Sam regularly posts on Instagram as to how much he misses Digby. When Digby made a guest appearance in Gold Rush, Sam uploaded a photo with the caption, “Apart from biting cousin Toby and Lola, wrecking their favorite toys and then peeing on their bed — apart from those things — Digby was the perfect guest today”.

The Gold Rush star, Sam Brown is in a relationship with Olwen Kelly, who is an Irish model and actress.  They have been together for more than four years and have not married or got engaged yet. They have a daughter named Lucy Rose Brown who was born in July 2020.
