Mariah Huq is the brilliant mind behind the reality TV series, Married to Medicine. Not only is Mariah the executive producer of the series, but she is also one of the stars of the series. The series first began airing on the 24th of March 2013 and ran for a total of seven seasons. The final episode of the series aired on the 5th of January, 2020. The series which aired in the Bravo network as produced by Mariah Huq and focused on the lives of doctors and doctor’s wives. Mariah Huq was one of the first cast members of the series which is a no brainer considering that she is also the executive producer of the series.
Mariah Huq was born on the 12th of June, 1978 in Tenessee. Born and raised in Tenessee, Mariah has revealed very little about her early life and parents. She is believed to have a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and graduated from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga in 2003. She has a double major in business and communications which proved to be invaluable in her career moving forward.
After graduating from the University of Tennessee in 2003, Mariah started working for several radio stations and communication networks. Eventually, Mariah found her way to the NBC affiliate WRCB-TV in Chattanooga and started working as an associate producer. She was later handed over the reins to the lifestyle show Trends on Channel 3. This was Mariah’s first appearance as an executive producer and while the program was a far cry from what it could have been, it helped Mariah pick up tricks of the trade. Over the yead, Mariah polished her skills and started working as an executive producer for several TV programs. In the years that followed, Mariah worked for several other companies including Pfizer and LMA Worldwide.

In contrast to most of her co-stars who starred in the first season of Married to Medicine, Mariah Huq is not a doctor. But the socialite is married to one. Her most notable appearance both as an actor and a producer came in the TV series and Maria is best known for it. Airing on the 24th of March 2013, the series looked at doctors or wives of doctors as they tried to balance their professional callings with their personal and social lives. While the series was well-received by most of the fans, several people complained that the series stereotyped black women. The series finished airing the final episode of the seventh season on the 5th of January 2020 and has not yet been renewed for an eighth season.
Mariah Huq is a married woman. The reality star is married to Dr. Aydin Huq, who is native of Bangladesh. While Maria is always there for her family, she does admit that having a doctor for a husband can be quite taxing. However, Mariah is committed to their marriage and is focused on raising her two lovely children, Lauren and Ethan. Mariah often refers to her family as ‘Blackdeshi’ and is committed to raising her children in a multi-cultural home.
