Josh continues to be part of racing. He joined Southeast Gassers association (SGA) in 2016. There Josh ran his first race with 1953 Chevy Gasser on August 27th, 2016 at Brainerd Motorsports Park along with 30 more racers. He was among the 45 SGA members entered for Finals at Greer Dragway in November of 2016. In December of 2017, Josh put his 1953 Chevy Gasser on sale.

Most recent on 16th March of 2018, Josh was hospitalized at Halifax Health Medical Center for injuries from a motorcycle accident during Daytona Bike Week. He was thrown from an antique motorcycle while preparing for an exhibition race at the New Smyrna Speedway. According to the statement given by Josh, he had broken all but one of his ribs, punctured a lung, broke his collarbone and shoulder blade and stripped the skin off one of his pointer fingers down to the bone.
On August 12, 2017, Josh witnessed his trailer attached to a truck burn after the fire broke out near Sloan Iowa on Interstate 29 Southbound at Mile Marker 130. He was backed off by Iowa police patrol as he tried to disconnect truck from the trailer. Along with the loss of trailer the truck sustained heat damage to the tail lights, tailgate, and fenders, a race motorcycle in the back of the truck also received some damage from the heat of the fire in the connected trailer. No injury occurred to Josh.
Previous accident In 2016 cost Josh his index finger. The details of the accident have not come out however according to a source close to Josh, it occurred when a grinding wheel exploded.
