Aubrey J. Ross was born on February 07, 1980 in Houston, Texas, USA. Ross and his love affair with animals started as a child. At the age of 5, he knew he wanted to be a veterinarian so had expressed to his parents. Thankfully they were supportive of his career who would encourage him by giving the responsibility of taking care of different animals like chickens, rabbits, horses, guinea pigs, hamsters, snakes, and dogs.

Ross grew up on the east side of Houston and began his schooling there. He attended Galena Park High School where he focused on academics as well as sports.

After graduating high school in 1998, he was granted half scholarship in Basketball at Langston University. He was active in basketball during freshmen year of college but later discontinued shifting focus on academics. As a result, he was able to a get a full scholarship in Animal science. He also represented the college as a member of Alpha Chi National Honor Society.

After Langston University he attended Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine with a full academic scholarship. There he graduated with DVM in 2007.

Career and Progression

Dr. Ross longed for establishing his own animal hospital. To do so, he spent several years working for others. Following graduation, Dr. Ross worked as an associate veterinarian for three years in Las Vegas, Nevada, at Pebble-Maryland Animal Hospital. Subsequently, he moved on to Park Animal Hospital where he studied exotic and avian medicine.

He took a position as a lead veterinarian at Banfield Pet Hospital which played a big role in learning the business aspect of veterinary medicine as well as to hone his managerial and leadership skills. He also volunteered at Heaven Can Wait Animal Shelter helping with the feral cat program and worked as a relief veterinarian at Lied Animal Foundation performing high volume spays and neuters as well as provided preventative care through vaccine clinics.

In 2013, Dr. Ross moved back to Huston to established his Animal health practice named Cy-Fair Animal Hospital. His fellow professionals and friends Diarra Blue and Michael Lavigne partners with him in business. The trio forms an effective team with their combined experience of over 22 years helps them to successfully operate on extensive cases on the household as well as exotic animals. They also take on house calls for treating large animals.

The Vet Life is a reality TV show that follows the efforts of three veterinarians, Dr. Blue, Dr. Ross, and Dr. Lavigne, as they go above and beyond to care for animals in Houston, Texas. The show premiered on June 4, 2016 on Animal Planet and has aired six seasons so far. The show features a variety of cases, from exotic pets to farm animals, and showcases the personal lives and challenges of the three vets and their families.

In the personal aspect, Dr. Ross is a man committed to the family. He is married to Tauvia Ross and is also a father to his kids. Tauvia is supportive and took care of him when he faced a gruesome car accident in January of 2016. He had broken his pelvis and dislocated hip after someone T-boned him.
