One of the leading cast members in the reality TV series Paranormal Lockdown, Ben has always been fascinated by the extraterrestrial. In search of real-life X-Files, Ben has pursued his interests to the point where they turn into an obsession. He first rose to fame following his appearances in the TV series, Facto or Faked. Even though he worked on several TV series over the years, Ben’s most prominent role to date came in Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files. Ben Hansen was born on the 23rd of September 1977 in Utah. One of the six Hansen siblings, Ben was the second-oldest child of the family. From a young age, Ben was encouraged to pursue all of his interests. His father was a coach and coached quite a few of Ben’s high school teams. On the other hand, his mother was a music enthusiast and enrolled Ben for piano and trumpet lessons. While his father believed settling things on the baseball field, his mother taught him how to fish, camp, and shoot a gun. Over the years, Ben developed a strong interest in trying out new things. After graduating from a local high school, Bill enrolled at the University of Utah and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with Abnormal Psychology emphasis. He also has a certification in Criminology and Corrections and a Spanish minor.
While still in high school, Ben was obsessed with shows like The X-Files. Wanting to explore the mysteries of the world, Ben worked for several private and public agencies. He was a part of the Utah County Sex Crimes Task Force. After a few years at the task force, Ben was invited to join the FBI as a Special Agent. After six years on the force, Ben was invited by the SyFy network to work on the reality TV series, Fact or Faked.
The series began airing from the 15th of July 2010 and lasted for a total of two seasons. The premise was centered around Ben and a group of five investigators, who traveled the world debunking mysteries. Over the years, Ben has made numerous appearances in paranormal documentaries including Smithsonian, Destination America, and CW.
In 2016, Ben was invited to work on a new reality series entitled Paranormal Lockdown. Led by Nick Groff and Katrina Weidman, the series featured veteran ghost hunters as they take on a 72-hour operation in some of America’s most haunted locations. The series wrapped up its third season in 2019 and has not been renewed for a potential fourth.
In 2019, Ben was a part of the 8 episode series, Ghosts of Morgan City. The series saw Ben pair up with two other paranormal investigators to resolve cases of strange occurring in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana.

Apart from his relevant expertise in paranormal investigations, Ben is a commercial drone pilot and teaches advanced firearms, active shooter response, and CPR courses as an instructor. He also owns a line of night vision and thermal camera business called Night Vision Ops. Ben is also a licensed land and sea airplane pilot, amateur radio operator, licensed falconer, certified SCUBA diver, hang glider, EMT, Search and Rescue dog handler, and Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts.

Ben is a married man. However, it was not always the case. Afraid of commitment and family responsibility Ben waited for the right time which according to him was 37 years of age. Ben married his longtime lover Kelli Hansen on May 5, 2015. The two had quite a story. Ben met his wife Kelly shortly after a missionary in Chile. The relationship started as a friendship and as the things escalated the pair shared on-again-off-again relationship. Even the time the two were apart they remained friends. Ben finally popped up the question in 2015 and shortly after they tied the knot. So far in marriage, the pair has not shared any news of children.
