Alexi Ashe was born on the 1st of April, 1983, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born to Tom Ashe and Joanne, Ashe spent most of her early life with her siblings, Ariel and Tolya. Her father, Tom Ashe, was a renowned photographer back in the day and traveled around the world. On the other hand, Ashe’s mother, Joanne was an activist, educator, and the founder and executive director of the Journey in the Film project. On the academic side of things, Ashe graduated from a local high school in 2002 before moving over to Occidental College. She graduated in 2006 with a BA in Political Science and Government and continued her studies at the University School of Law. She graduated with a Juris Doctor in International Human Rights.

Ashe began her professional career as an intern at the L.A. City Attorney’s Office, and worked as a policy and research analyst. She worked at the Attorney’s office between March 2007 and April 2009. Following her graduation in 2011, Ashe joined the Somaly Mam Foundation and worked as a legal intern. During her time at the Somaly Mam Foundation, Ashe worked on creating a legal guideline for lawyers utilizing civil litigation against sex traffickers. Later that year, Ashe moved to New York and became a part of the King’s County District Attorney’s Office. While she worked in Pro Bone cases during her early years, she was eventually elevated to Human Rights First and began working as a refugee representation legal intern.

In April 2012, Ashe started working as a legal counsel for compliance at AC Investment Management in New York City. She left AC Investment in December 2012 and started working as a grants writer and legal intern at the World Wide Orphan Foundation in Maplewood, New Jersey. In 2013, Ashe began working as a DA at King’s Country District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn and worked at Special Victims Bureau and Human Trafficking Bureau. Ashe currently works as an attorney at Sanctuary for Families and is a member of Human Rights First’s board of directors. 

Personal Life:

Alexi Ashe is happily married to Seth Meyers. The pair met at Chris Kattan’s wedding in June 2008 and soon started dating. Meyers proposed in 2011 and did it in style. While asking for her hands he tied the ring in a bow around the dog’s collar. The pair performed their wedding nuptials on September 1, 2013, but Ashe nearly didn’t make it to her wedding after falling sick two days before it.

The pair had their first child Ashe Olsen Meyers on March 27, 2016, at Lenox Hill Hospital. The pair had their second child on the 8th of April 2018, in less-than-ideal circumstances. In a hilarious episode on the Tonight show, Meyers revealed that Ashe had given birth to Axel Strahl, in their apartment’s lobby. The pair geared to go to the hospital after suffering from severe contractions, but couldn’t make it past the lobby.

“I looked at my wife, and the only way I can describe how my wife looked, was she looked like someone who was hiding a baby in a pair of sweatpants… We undressed her and the baby was just out. The head of the baby was out. I called 911 – this is how fast it happened – I called 911 and over the course of a minute conversation, I basically said, ‘We’re about to have a baby, we’re having a baby, we had a baby.”
