Alexandra Steele was born in 1969 in Albany, New York. Born and raised in Albany, Steele has revealed very little about herself. Details on her early life, parents, and siblings have remained a mystery to viewers. While Steele does hold a college degree and is also a certified member of the American Meteorological Society, her academic associations have never been revealed. Considering her knowledge of hydrology and thermodynamics, it is safe to say that Steele has a meteorologist degree. Following her time at the University, Alexandra began working as a weather news anchor for Washington based ABC affiliated channel, WJLA. During her time there, Steele hosted several TV shows including, Good Morning America and Primetime Live. After calling time at WJLA, Steele made the switch to Weather Channel In 2009, Steele was first seen on the network alongside Jim Cantore. The pair had replaced the outgoing Mike Bettes and Stephanie Abrams in the popular program, Weather Center Live.

In around 2010, Steele decided to make the switch to CNN and started working as an on-screen camera meteorologist. Over the years, Steele established herself as one of the best meteorologists on the network and became the face of weather news on CNN.
After staying with the network for around 4-years, Steele decided to head home and joined the Weather Channel. One of the rumors was that Steele had been married and is the mother of a daughter, who was born in October of 2008. It indeed is true that she is already married and a mother. Another one of those rumors was her alleged relationship with fellow co-host, Jim Cantore. But neither Jim nor Steele validated the rumor and it has since died out.
