Unlike most paranormal investigators, Dave Schrader chose the radio to express his views on the paranormal. While most investigators opt in favor of a TV show, movie, or some sort of visual documentary, Dave had his goals clear from the start. While Dave did go on to star in the TV series The Holzer Files, he began his paranormal dealings with Darkness Radio. From podcasts to shows, Dave has had a fair share of paranormal dealings in his life. In this article, we will take a closer look at the wiki-bio of Dave Schrader.
Early Life and Introduction to the Paranormal:
Dave Schrader was born on November 22, 1967, in Medinah, Illinois, Chicago. Little is known about Dave’s early life save the fact that he had a brush with the paranormal when he was quite young.
Dave revealed that his late grandfather had come to visit him when he was still a child.
“I was very young and have no real memory, just the tales my family shares with me about that time of my life, but it must have impacted me as I have read and studied all things paranormal growing up. I think the visitation from my grandfather about 20 years ago was more profound as it answered more questions about death and heaven for me.”
Dave began his schooling in his hometown at Medinah South Elementary and pursued a high school education at Lake Park High School. Growing up Dave was passionate about hosting and grew up pretending to be on radio a career which came to fruition later in his life. He left his hometown for Minnesota in 1988 and has been a resident there ever since. He attended Winona State University.
While Dave spent his early career in sales he was fascinated by the idea that there could be life after death. Dave religiously studied anything he could find on the internet about the paranormal. Dave started Darkness Radio on Jan 1, 2006, with co-host Tim Dennis, which grew into a widely popular radio show. Established with the three-fold mission, Enlighten, Educate, and Entertain, the program later moved to the KTLK network and has been stationed with them ever since. He then became a regular fill-in host for George Noory on Coast to Coast AM which is heard worldwide by millions of listeners. Even though Dave has achieved considerable success in his radio career, he believes that he simply happened to be in the right place at the right time. As Dave puts it,
“Pure luck, right place, right time and knew the right people. All thanks go to Tim Dennis one of my oldest and best friends. He got it off the ground and on radio for us.”
Dave now hosts Midnight In The Desert, formally hosted by the radio legend Art Bell on Dark Matter Digital Network along with Darkness Radio Presents: BEYOND the DARKNESS on PodcastOne and True Crime Tuesday on Patreon.
He also hosts the podcast The Paranormal 60 with Dave Schrader which is a fast-moving, 60-minute show that features short-form interviews, cutting through the wasted time and getting right to the heart of some of the most fascinating paranormal claims ever heard with the most compelling guests and real-life experiences with the unknown. Each episode also takes a look at different segments from Spellcasting to supernatural-themed movie reviews, breaking news on books, and entertainment along with reports on monsters, myths and legends.
