Who is Moon Angell, Duane Chapman ex-girlfriend? Her Wiki-Bio.
Moon Angell has been associated with the Chapman family in more than one way. She first worked as the personal assistant of Duane Chapman’s wife, Beth. After the untimely passing of Beth, Moon grew close to Duane and started learning the tricks of bounty hunting. She then joined Duane in his expeditions and the pair grew close. At some point, Moon and Duane began dating which later resulted in a rift between the two. After rejecting Duane’s proposal on-screen, Moon moved out from Duane’s life and the pair parted ways. As a result, the TV series which the pair worked on, was left stranded. In this article, we take a closer look at the wiki-bio of Moon Angell.
Early Life:
Mary Hartley-Leacock was born on the 4th of September 1966 in Colorado. Born to Anne Leacock, Angell spent much of her early life in Colorado but later relocated to Waimea, Hawaii. Moon studied at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and graduated from Hawaii Community College with a degree in law. Mary has three children Randi DeRego, Bihag DeRego, Justin Bihag, and Derrick. While little is known about the other two, Justin worked with Dog as a bondsman.
Meeting the Chapmans:
It is not known how and where Angell met Duane Chapman and Beth Chapman. In her early years, Angell worked as the personal assistant of Beth Chapman and even moved to the family’s mansion. In the years that followed, Angell grew close to Beth and Duane and was even one of the bridesmaids in the pair’s wedding in 2006. She has been with the Chapmans since 1998, while her son Justin worked with Duane Chapman.
The start of her troubles:
Tragedy struck the Chapmans in June of 2019 when Beth Chapman lost her long battle with cancer. After the death of his wife, Duane was left heartbroken. But seven months later, Dog stirred rumors that he was getting engaged to his wife’s long-time friend, Moon Angell. Duane’s children didn’t take too kindly to the news and were firm against their father’s decision.
It was rumored that Dog even proposed to Angell during the taping of the film. While both Dog and Angell never commented on the news, Dog fueled rumors further by adding a photo of himself and Angell on Instagram.
Different versions of the story:
From here on out, you can find different versions of the story. Several sources claimed that Dog and Angell were not engaged and the proposal was just for show. Many claimed that Angell declined the proposal and was angry at Dog. But one thing is certain, the alleged proposal became the major source of unrest in the family.
Family Feud:
Both of Duane’s daughters were not happy with their father dating Angell. Angell and Duane’s daughter Lyssa exchanged barbs on social media. Even though Lyssa was the stepdaughter of Beth, the pair had a loving relationship. When news of Angell’s and Duane’s relationship was made viral, Lyssa took to social media to share her feelings.
“You’re disgusting woman. Any person who moves in on a man weeks after losing his wife, who you were supposed to be a “friend “ to, Is the lowest scum on the planet-Which for you wasn’t that far of a step down from where you were before. God will get you MARY !!!” Lyssa wrote on Twitter.
Dog’s other daughter Cecily also showed support to her sister. She tweeted,
“‘I’ve been very quiet concerning the circumstances but tbh what kinda “friend” moves into a dead friend’s house with their husband?! And ACTS LIKE THEY DID NOTHING WRONG? #Narcissist”.
Comments flew from both sides and at one point Lyssa even accused Moon of having a relationship with one of her brothers, although she never revealed which one.
