Bam Margera is quite the character. The man’s life is filled with equal part talent and equal part controversy. An American professional skateboarder, stunt performer, filmmaker, musician, and television personality, Margera rose to fame following his appearances in the MTV reality stunt show, Jackass. Over the years, Bam rose in stature as a producer and filmmaker and worked in several movies and TV series. While his professional career is on the rise, he doesn’t share the same luck in his personal life. Bam had a severe drinking problem which caused a massive rift in his relationships. It was also the source of the problem which caused Bam to divorce his first-wife, Missy Rothstein.
Melissa “Missy” Rothstein was born on the 3rd of June 1980 in Springfield, Pennsylvania. After her father walked out on the family, it fell on the shoulder of Marian Rothstein to raise Missy. Born and raised in Springfield, Missy attended the West Chester East High School, where she met her future husband Bam Margera. Miss revealed that during their early years the pair were nothing more than just friends. After graduating from high school, Missy enrolled at Pennsylvania State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communication.
Following her time at the University, Missy began working as a model. However, a lack of opportunities pushed Missy towards acting. Over the years, Missy developed a penchant for acting and started appearing regularly on TV. Her first appearance came in the movie Haggard, which was directed by her future husband Bam Margera. Since then, Missy only has a single acting credit to her name. In 2009, She was cast as the Hot Nurse in the film Minghags, which was directed by her future husband Bam Margera.
Meeting Bam and Marriage:
Bam and Missy separated after their high school days. With Missy going to university and Bam trying to make a name for himself in Hollywood, the pair remained out of touch for a few years. However, they reunited in the mid-2000’s. By this time, Bam’s career was on the rise and he pulled a few connections to help Missy’s career. The pair began dating eventually and tied the knot in 2007.
Just before her marriage to Bam, Missy starred in the TV series, Bam’s Unholy Union. The show documented the lives of Bam and Missy during the weeks leading up to the marriage. The show had an original run-time from the 30th of January to the 3rd of April, 2007. The show also documented the couple’s wedding which happened on the 3rd of February, 2007. During the series, Missy was approached by Playboy to pose nude. The photos were taken by Bam who starred as a guest photographer.
Bam later revealed that MTV wanted to work on a second season but he declined the offer.
While Bam and Missy seemed to share the love for unconventional antics, Missy could not keep up with Bam. Problems with alcohol took a toll on their marriage and in October of 2010, Bam revealed that the pair were living in different cities. He also admitted that Missy was aware of his girlfriends in San Francisco and West Chester. The pair were spotted together for the last time following the death of Margera’s best friend and Jackass co-star, Ryan Dunn. The divorce was finalized in 2012, which was also the last time Missy was seen in the media.
