Mina Starsiak was born on the 26th of November 1987 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was raised alongside seven other siblings by her father Casey and mother Karen Laine. Her parents couldn’t work things out and divorced early. Even though Casey and Karen, got married to different persons after the split, they always took parenting seriously. After completing high school in Indianapolis, Mina joined Indiana University Bloomington and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business and sociology in 2007.

Fertility issues:

Both Mina and Stephen have been quite candid in documenting their struggles with getting pregnant the second time. The pair tried several things including acupuncture and fertility bracelets. To increase their chances, Stephen had to undergo minor surgery to correct one of his undescended testicles. The surgery went well without any complications. 

Pregnancy & Second Baby:

Mina loved being a mom to her son Jack, and wanted to give him a sibling to grow up with. But her journey to motherhood was not easy. She faced secondary infertility, a condition that affects many women who have trouble conceiving after having a child.

Mina opened up about her struggles on social media, sharing her emotional highs and lows as she tried different treatments to get pregnant. She went through a failed round of IVF, which left her heartbroken and discouraged.  But Mina did not give up hope. She and her husband Steve decided to try one more time, using a procedure called IUI, where sperm is injected directly into the uterus. Mina found out she was pregnant in March 2020, and she was overjoyed.
