Everybody wants to be a ninja. When Japan came swinging with its culture and history, the world was fascinated with its colorful characters. The mysterious ninjas soon found their place in TV series and movies aiding to their popularity. It so happened that every kid wanted to be a ninja once. The TV series Ninja Warrior sought to capitalize on this increasing popularity of Ninjas. Even though the series took a completely different style from the ninjas who were known for stealth, it still embodied the core capabilities of Ninjas. Strong, well-trained, athletic, and well-prepared for every situation. Competitors soon flocked to the set of Ninja Warrior seeking to challenge themselves. Kacy Catanzaro is one of those challengers who managed to make quite a name for herself.
Kacy Esther Catanzaro was born on the 4th of January 1990 Glen Ridge, New Jersey. There exists very little information on Kacy’s early life, her parents, and her siblings. She attended a local high school in Belleville and joined the Towson University in 2012 with a major degree in Children Education. An early starter, Kacy was well into gymnastics by the time she was five-years-old.
Kacy began gymnastics training when she was 6 and reached level 10 in 2007. She competed at the 2007 New Jersey Level 10 State Championships and secured the fifth position in the Senior-A division. Not the one to give up, She competed in 2008 and reached a respectable third place. In 2008, Kacy was also selected for the 2008 Junior Olympic National Championships where she finished 23rd.
Seeking to continue her career as a gymnast, Kacy competed in gymnastics for Towson in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. After her debut during the 2009 season, Kacy helped the Towson Tigers win the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships in both 2009 and 2010. Kacy bagged few awards in 2012 including the Southeast Regional Gymnast of the Year and Eastern College Athletic Conference Gymnast of the Year.
Kacy began training for Ninja Warrior from 2013 when she worked for Alpha Warrior. Luck favored Kacy in 2014 as she became the first woman to complete the qualifying course of American Ninja Warrior. She later competed in the Dallas finals and became the first woman ever to complete a city finals course. As the first-ever woman to qualify for national finals, expectations were high on Kacy. But she came short in the finals and couldn’t make it all the way.
After giving up on ninja warrior, Kacy tried her hands in wrestling with a tryout with WWE at their WWE Performance Center. She was given a professional contract and made her in-ring debut at an NXT live event. This ended in a loss to Reina González. Things were looking bright for the five feet of fury until an injury forced her to retire.
As of 2020 Kacy Catanzaro has an estimated net worth of $1M.
Marriage on the cards?
Kacy is in a loving relationship with her boyfriend, Dave Reid. She was previously associated with Brent Steffensen who helped her prepare for Ninja Warrior. Kacy is a very private person and likes to keep her cards close to her chests. She has not discussed if she and Dave are married or engaged. Dave is a war veteran who lost a leg during his time in Afghanistan. The pair are incredibly supportive of each other and have managed to keep the media at an arm’s length.
