John Jovanovic was born in 1986 to Serbian parents, Nada Jovanovic Dimitric and Sretko Dimitric. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, John was invested in the world of business from a young age. His father owned a contracting firm, and his mother worked as a client specialist for the risk management insurance unit of Aon Corporation. After graduating from high school, John joined Princeton University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in politics. He continued his higher education and attended The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated in 2014 with an MBA degree in Finance & Entrepreneurial Management.
John began his professional career long before he graduated from college. In 2005, John worked for Serbia Investment & Export Promotion Agency for 3 months. Two years later, John joined Deutsche Bank and served as an analyst for 3 months. His first long term job came in June of 2008 when he started working at Berenson & Company. He held the position for around two years and left for Cadent Energy partners in June of 2010. After a two year stay with Cadent, John joined Noble Group of Energy Capital & Origination. John Jovanovic is happily married to Danphe Oz. The pair met during their time at Princeton and began dating soon after. They tied the knot on August 28, 2010, and had two ceremonies in a single day. The morning ceremony was held at the Synaxis of Serbian Saints Church in Portland, Maine, and was followed by a night ceremony at the summer home of Oz’s maternal grandparents, in Cumberland Foreside, Maine.
The pair had their first child, Philomena “Philo” Bijou Jovanovic, on February 26, 2014. Philo was followed by a brother Jovan Jr., who was born on October 21, 2015. The pair had their second daughter, Domenica Celine Jovanovic, on December 4, 2017. The couple welcomed a fourth child, Giovanna “Gigi” Ines Jovanovic, on August 14, 2019.
