Erin Angle has always been in and around celebrities. The niece of retired WWE Superstar Kurt Angle, Erin went on to marry the popular actor, Jon Bernthal. Jon, of course, is best known for his portrayal of Shane Walsh on the AMC horror series The Walking Dead (2010–2012; 2018) and Frank Castle / The Punisher on the Netflix action series Daredevil (2015–2018). But contrary to her husband and uncle, Erin is neither associated with the wrestling industry nor the entertainment industry. Erin is a trauma nurse who prefers to keep to herself. In this article, we will take a closer look at the wiki-bio of Erin Angle.
Erin Angle was born on February 14, 1976, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Born to Cindy Abbondanaza Angle and one of Kurt Angle’s brothers, Cindy spent most of her early life in Pittsburgh. Raised by a single mother, little is known about Erin’s father. As a young kid, Erin spent most of her early life with her four sisters Cassidy, Jackie, Kristen, Lea, and a brother, Mark. Akin to most of the siblings, Erin enrolled and graduated from the Canon-McMillan High School. Interested in nursing from a young age, Erin graduated with a degree in nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1998. She continued her higher education and went on to acquire an MS in anesthesiology from the University of Southern California in 2008.
Erin began her professional career as a nurse in 1999, right after graduating with a nursing degree. She began her at the Georgetown University Medical in Washington. In more than two decades as a nurse, Erin has worked with several hospitals including stints at the USC University Hospital and Stanford Medical Center. While Erin moved to Harbor- UCLA Medical Center as a nurse anesthetist, it is not known if she continues to work there.
Erin and Jon first met at a welcome home party celebrating Jon’s return to Washington after studying at the Moscow Art Theatre in Russia. The pair took an instant liking to each other and began dating soon after. As Jon puts it,
“I came over and was just rudely messing around, and I know this is the corniest thing in the world, but when I actually saw Erin, it was literally like angels were singing. I had never seen anyone so beautiful.”
The pair began dating and Erin accompanied Jon from city to city while he pursued his acting career. But after they arrived in LA, the pair split for a short while after Jon did some “dumb stuff”. Even when Erin ended up taking a job in San Francisco, California, Jon never gave up convincing her and took her to a Willie Nelson concert. Jon managed to convince Nelson to play the song Always on My Mind for the pair and his efforts paid off. Years later, Jon credited Nelson for saving his relationship.
“I snuck backstage. I found this beautiful postcard and wrote Willie this long letter and rolled him a beautiful (marijuana) joint and told him the situation with me and my woman (sic). I told him she’s a good-hearted woman in love with a good-timin’ man, and I asked him to play this one song Always on My Mind for us, and he did.”
The pair dated for 10 years before they tied the knot on September 25, 2010. The pair tied the knot in a private ceremony in Potomac, Maryland. Following the marriage, Erin gave birth to the pair’s eldest son, Henry, in August of 2011. Their second son, Billy, was born in January of 2013 and was followed by a daughter, Adeline, who was born in February of 2015. The family of five is currently living in Ojai, California.
