Matt Carriker was born on October 21, 1986 in Fredericksburg, Texas as Mathew Lee Carriker. One of four children of Dr. Lee Carriker, a veterinarian, and Pat Carriker, a homemaker, Matt grew up in Boerne, Texas, where his family moved in 1989. He has a sister named Ali Thames and two brothers named Mark William and Andrew Carriker. Matt was very close to his siblings, especially Mark, who also became a YouTuber. Sadly, Mark passed away in 2020 due to cancer.

Matt inherited his father’s passion for animals and decided to follow in his footsteps as a veterinarian. Matt attended Borene High School where he also met his future wife Meredith “Mere” Atkinson.
