Diane Addonizio raised a family of champions. Diane Addonizio was born in Red Bank, New Jersey in 1962. Little is known about Diane’s early life, and details on her parents and siblings have never been revealed to the media. Born and raised in Red Bank, graduated from a local high school before setting off to Villanova University. She graduated from Villanova with a degree in classical studies. Following her interests in the legal side of things, Diane continued her higher education at the University Of Southern California School Of Law.
Diane’s career as a lawyer was short-lived as she took a step back to take care of her family. Following her graduation, Diane started working at Pennthe workforce as an attorney. After a short stint, Diane left the company and decided to try her hands in the business. At this point in her career, Diane had already met Howie and the pair were almost inseparable. Following her marriage, Diane tried her hands in a couple of things but couldn’t make it out. Content with her work-life, Diane decided to take an indefinite hiatus. She was seen in the new light as an author in 2000 when she wrote and released the book “He’s Just My Dad!”. The book featured the athletes in their most important role ‘Dad’. Due to her associations with Howie, Diane also worked in the NFL Head UP Football Advisory Committee.
Marriage and Personal Life:
Diane and Howie Long met during their time at Villanova University. Howie was one year her senior and invited Diane to watch a game of NFL with him. The first date took place at Howie’s dorm room and as Diane puts it, she had never seen someone so big and so handsome.
“Attractive, the boy was attractive. I’d never met anyone that big who was that good-looking. He was always like a volcano about to erupt, always driven. Everywhere we went, he thought people were staring at him.”
The pair got engaged following Diane’s graduation and decided to tie the knot on 27th June 1982 in a private ceremony. Since then, Diane has acted as a springboard to help Howie success in every way.
In their 38 years of togetherness, Diane and Howie gave birth to three baby boys, all of whom have gone on to make a name for themselves in the NFL. The eldest of the lot, Chris Long was born in 1985 and played in the National Football League for 11 seasons, primarily with the St. Louis Rams. Their second son, Kyle Howard Long, was born in 1988 and followed his father to football. He saw out his professional career with the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. The youngest of the lot Howard Long Jr. was born in 1990 and currently works in player personnel for the Raiders.
