An animal lover:
While Christie’s love for cars has been up for display, her love for animals is not often known. An avid dog lover, Christie owns four pet dogs, Lulu, Tyson, Lulu, and Hanks. While most of her fans tend to mistake Christie for just a dog lover, she has an appreciation for all kinds of animals. Christie Brimberry was born on the 25th March 1972, in Dallas, Texas USA. Born and raised in Texas, it is difficult to say where Christie got her passion for cars. She has revealed little about her parents, and early life. It is unknown how and when Christie joined the Gas Monkey Garage. While the reality star has never mentioned her connection to Richard Rawling, the fact that her husband is Rawling’s hairstylist might have got something to do with her joining the crew. A regular cast member since the first season, Christie is well known amongst fans of the show for her kind demeanor and easy-going attitude. Not afraid to get ger hands dirty, Christie is the perfect fit for the Gas Monkey Garage.
Running around and tidying the things for her boss, Christie gained a peculiar name “Zookeeper.” Not that she works at an actual zoo, Christie is an assistant to Richard Rawling at Gas Monkey Garage. Unlike a usual garage, Gas Monkey Garage is a place where Richard Rawlings and his crew work to bring classic cars back to life. And Christie helps them to manage the schedule and keep in check. Her name Zookeeper actually comes in as she keeps things in order for workers referred to as monkey crews. Other than being an assistant, Christie is a reality TV actor and features in discover channel show Fast N Loud. The show premiered on June 5, 2012, and has gone on to have sixteen seasons as of 2020.
Battling with cancer:
In 2016, Christie was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Cancer had already spread to her lymph nodes, and Christie had to take a break from filming the series. In the same year, Christie underwent surgery to remove the cancerous lymph node from her thyroid. While the surgery was successful, it wasn’t without scares. The process took its toll on Christie and her voice box was damaged in the process. Talking about the surgery, Christie revealed:
“In the process, the nerve to my voice box was cut and I will have no voice for a while, maybe up to 6 months. I am at home, and I am OK. I have a tube in my throat, but I will get that removed today, and hopefully, it will start to heal QUICKLY! I will have to take radiation soon and hopefully, that will be the end”.
Christie also battled through chemotherapy and was declared cancer-free on the 4th of December 2017.

Christie is married to Darren Brimberry. Before her loving marriage to Darren, Christie was married to an unidentified man and the pair had two children together. Darren is a hairstylist and owns two salons in Texas, Muse The Salon and Craft & Company Salon. The pair met during the late 90s and have been married for about two decades. Christie has four children with Darren and the family of six live together in Dallas, USA.
