Early Life and Education
August Otto Kilcher known as August Kilcher was born in 1997 in Alaska. He grew up alongside wild nature of Alaska while equally aware of hardship that may come with freezing Alaskan winter. Growing up he had interest in drama and inherits a good singing voice which may due to fact music runs in Kilcher family. His grandmother Ruth Kilcher had a beautiful voice who taught her children, now their children have the blessing. August’s cousin Jewel Kilcher is an international pop singer who has sold over 30M albums worldwide.
August attended Homer High School and involved himself in extracurricular activities. He performed in several musical plays in front of guardians and audiences. He was also part of students group who performed spring musical based on a comic opera “Pirates of Penzance” at Homer High School. August graduated from there in 2016. According to his Facebook page, he lives now in Corvallis, Oregon where he attends Oregon State University.
August Kilcher Family and Siblings
He is of Swiss descent. His grandparents Yule Kilcher and Ruth Weber fled from Switzerland to Alaska during the second world war and owned acres of barren lands there. August is the youngest son of Otto Kilcher and his wife Charlotte Kilcher. He has three siblings; Torrey, Eivin and Levi Kilcher. Among them, Torrey is from Charlotte’s previous marriage, while Eivin and Levi Kilcher are from Otto’s second marriage.
