She started working at Warrior body piercing in Philadelphia in 1996 and later moved to, Gemini body piercing, a company she founded herself. She worked as a body piercer for five years up until 2001 and decided to leave it all to follow her passion for poetry and writing.

Over the years, Oberg has worked on a few collections both as a writer and editor. One of her first works was as an editor for Joe Knetter’s Twisted Loneliness, a collection of short stories. However, things did not get better and Haig passed away on the 23rd of September, 2019. She posted a picture of her hand holding Haig’s hand and captioned it,

“My light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next. He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens. He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be. He adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us. We, as a family, are asking that our privacy and time to mourn be respected.”
