Early Life and Education

She was Born on May 26, 1954, in  Newton, Massachusetts, United States. Growing up in her hometown of Newton she began her schooling. From her elementary education to senior high school graduation she remained close to her home.

Her first step in formal education was to attend  John Ward Elementary School (1959-1966). Then she enrolled in Bigelow Middle School (1966-1969)  before joining Newton North High School. She graduated from Newton North in 1972.

In college, she took Liberal arts in Boston University where she graduated in the class of 1976. She traveled to New York to attend Colombia University where she gained Master degree in Social Work in 1978.

Career and Progression

She was active in entertainment industry mostly during the period of her relationship with ex-husband Howard Stern. In her undergraduate studies, she worked with Stern in a student movie, a documentary about Transcendental Meditation. She was the cast of 1987 TV movie U.S. Open Sores. Later she performed in the bigger stage as an actress in 1997 comedy/ drama genre movie Private Parts. Beside onscreen performance, she did three episodes in her husband famous radio show, The Howard Stern Show.

On the other hand, she was involved in social work from her college days. To further extend she decided to learn more on the field as she took Social Work emphasizing in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis for her Master’s degree. She is a licensed Clinical Social Worker.

After marrying Stern in 1978, she bounced to different places alongside him. During the time she attained to family affairs and got involved with her husband in different projects. In 1997 she returned to working as Psychoanalyst/therapist and has continued the practice. She also works as Psychotherapist in private practice in Roslyn Newyork.

Personal Life

Alison is married twice in her life. Howard Stern is her first husband. She met Stern through a mutual friend at Boston University. After their affair escalated, the two were in a relationship during final two years of college. They married on June 4, 1978, wedding ceremony took place at Temple Ohabei Shalom in Brookline. Together they have three children namely Emily Beth (1983), Debra Jennifer (1986), and Ashley Jade (1993). Had it not for miscarriage Alison would have another baby.

Alison and Stern separated in October of 1999 After 21 years of marriage. The divorce proceedings finalized in 2001. Afterward, the two remained friendly exes and kept in touch for their children.

She married David Scott Simon on 20 November 2001. The couple has so far lived a low-key life and has not made any media appearance. It is not known if Alison has any children from her second marriage with David Scott Simon.
