Justin Shearer popular by his nickname Big Chief is an American professional car racer and a TV personality. He is known for Discovery channel’s  reality TV show “Street Outlaws.” Justin gained popularity initially by grudge racing in Oklahoma streets later TV show (Street Outlaws) gave him whole new world of fame.

Justin has been in “405 List” of fastest street racers since Oklahoma Guys released in 2006. Beyond street scene, he participated in pro level NHRA drag racing in 2016.

Justin, on the other hand, is a businessman. He is the co-owner of Midwest Street Cars Automotive with partner Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington. There he fills in the role of Sales and Consultation person.

Early Life and Education

Justin Shearer was born on December 9, 1980, in Louisville, Kentucky in America. He spent early years in Louisville then at the age of 12 he moved to Oklahoma.

As a child, he loved getting involved with his parents either working on the cars with his father or training horses with his mother.

After his parents separated, his mother took both kids (Justin and his sibling) and raised them as a single independent woman. She worked hard taking a full-time job while had her own ambition of getting a nurse degree and went to school.

Growing up Justin was fascinated by cars and how they boosted in the street. Hence himself wanted to be a speedster. At the age of 16, he bought his first car 1972 Pontian LeMans.

As far as formal education is concerned Justin did not get past high school. He spent more time learning to ride and taking other guys on street race than getting a degree. He attended Putnam City High School before he could complete he drooped out the school.

Career and Net Worth

At the young age of 9 Chief would ride his bike to watch the street races on Old Route 66 and later he followed his fascination by competing in the street race. After dropping out of high school, he went through several jobs including working at the full-service gas station. Meanwhile, he was grudge racing in the streets of Oklahoma.

By 2006 he had established as one of the top street racers in Oklahoma. Also, he made in “405 List” of fastest street racer released for the first time in 2006. Since then he has regularly made in the list and time to time proved as the fastest street racer in Oklahoma. According to streetoutlawsokc.com, he holds number 1 spot in the list in 2018.

OKC guys were approached for Discover Channel reality show “Street Outlaws” after impressed by one of their race videos. Justin Shearer took the central figure in the show. Since the show debut on June 10, 2013, he has garnered huge popularity nationwide as well in the world.

Justin has a big part in the sudden rise of one of his biggest nemesis Kye Kelley. He had reached to find out the fastest street car racer at Da Pad racing location in New Orleans, to everyone’s knowledge Kye Kelley was the name. He arranged the first meet up with the fastest person of Oklahoma Daddy Dave at that time and Kye Kelley in Mid-2014. Kye came close but lost to Dave.

Later Kye did one over Justin and his crew. In early 2015 Kye drag raced against Justin and his crew in a “16-car Cash Days race” held in Texas and won against big deal drivers like Daddy Dave, Big Chief(Justin), Doc, and Bobby “Hollywood” Treadwell to culminate in a $16,000 cash payout.

To take revenge Justin and his crew decided to take the rematch in Kelley’s prominent location Da Pad New Orleans,  again losing to him in $16,000 cash payout.

Three or four months later Big Chief and Kelley raced in Oklahoma, yet again Kye won with $6,000 cash prize. In three consecutive matches, Justin had lost a total of $38,000 alone.

Beside street scene, Big Chief has raced in professional tracks. In 2016 he participated in national wise drag car racing in NHRA. Justin on the lesser know side works as Sales and Consultation person at Midwest Street Cars Automotive since 2014. He established the auto workplace (Midwest Street Cars) with his partner Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington.

Justin has accumulated huge net worth through business venture including merchandise, reality TV show and as a street car racer. As of now, the estimated net worth is $2M.

Justin pursuit of success was fueled by the first car race he lost to a kid in a Chevy Beretta. Justin blames the part of the reason he lost that day was that of his less competitive car. Right then he vowed to build a car that  Beretta couldn’t outrun. He has remained true to his word and relied on his first car 1972 Pontiac LeMans. Over the years he made several changes from the looks, frame, and most significant boasting the engine with  482 twin-turbocharged Pontiac engine. Justin and his car the crow had a wreck on November 14th, in a race against Brian Davis during filming for the episode of Discovery Channel’s Street Outlaws. Both were admitted to hospital. According to Justin’s Facebook post, he had Pulmonary contusions (bruised lungs). Crushed L2 and L3 in the back, broken collarbone, and pretty beat up.

Shortly then he purchased 1970 Pontiac GTO and performed Pro modification in the vehicle. He calls it “The New Crow.” He included several parts in it from from the wrecked car. Like it’s engine is the same Butler Performance built Pontiac 482 cubic inch motor that has been rebuilt a few times. The engine is twin turbocharged by a pair of 94mm Precision turbos and backed by a Rossler 3 speed transmission with close ratio gears.  It’s all ran by a Fueltech ECU and fuel injection system using methanol to feed the system. Mark Williams builds the rear end with 34″ Weld wheels bolted to each end. Justin has said the car is capable of making over 3,000 horsepower.

Personal Life

Justin Shearer married Alicia Shearer on September 29, 2006. Together they had two children, Corbin and Covil Shearer. After ten years of marriage, the couple separated. Justin began dating his girlfriend Jackie Braash while he was still married to Alicia. Braasch is also a racing sports fanatic and participates in drag car racing.

Justin met Alicia in 1999, he was working at a full-service gas station in Oklahoma while she had come to the place. Their affair quickly escalated, by the end of the year, the two had been lovers.

Justin was gradually making a name for himself in street racing in Oklahoma while Alicia was pursuing her further education. Throughout the two maintained the relationship. In 2005 they shared engagement ring.

The couple decided to take the next step in their relationship after she had graduated from  Oklahoma City Community College. The two married On September 29, 2006. Together they gave birth to two children Corbin and Covil Shearer.

Her love towards Justin was evident on her social media page where she would express how she felt about him from time to time. Also, Alicia and kids would come to support Justin in the race tracks. However, over decades of a relationship was shadowed by marriage trouble. Though neither has opened what happened, Justin addressed about getting a divorce with his wife. Talking in The Chief and Shawn show, he said;

“ It’s no secret obviously that me and Alicia, my wife of 10 years have been having trouble or whatever you want to call it, well, it is further than just having trouble, we are actually getting a divorce, and that is happening.”

After ending marriage Justin and Alicia kept in touch for their children. Justin regards children his precious achievement and the time they were born is his proudest moment.

Justin is in a relationship with Jackie Braasch who is his girlfriend. She is a professional motorsports racer especially known for drag car racing. She is a member of the women motorsports organization called Car Chix which organizes all girls racing events including for charities. Initially, the two had kept their affair out of the spotlight although they began dating while Justin was still married to Alicia.

Their relationship began to surface in media in early 2017. The two were seen together in several places including race tracks but had not confirmed the affair.

Justin later conceded that the new girl(Jackie) was his girlfriend. The couple was also seen saying “I love you to each other” on the episode of Street Outlaw before Justin headed for the first round of Bristol race.
